What Is Vinyasa Flow?
“Vinyasa” simply means “to connect”. A Vinyasa Flow class will coordinate the asanas (poses) in a flowing, connected way so that there is a progression through the practice. Beginning with a gentle warm up the practice will continue to a series of more vigorous actions and then move down again until you reach the final resting pose (savasana). There are many styles of Vinyasa that vary as much as the instructors who lead sessions. Vinyasa Flow classes can range from very slow and gentle with basic poses to more fast-paced classes incorporating advanced poses. Most of the classes at our studio will be some variation on a Vinyasa Flow.
